Chasing away monsters.

A heavy blanket,
When outside, thunder roars.
A hunched palm,
Under the midnight sky.
A cup of tea,
With an old confidante.
A lover’s warmth,
Full of promise.
A child on your lap,
Pudgy arms around your neck.
